Retro Coral Look with Winged Liner

Hello beautifuls! Today I have a retro inspired look for you using corals and pink shades featuring two NYX palettes "Be our Guest Maurice" and Madeleines and Macaroons" and a NYX Butter gloss also in a coral shade. This look is topped off with a dramatic retro liner.

I thought that this look would be great for an Australian Christmas party, (any party any climate actually) but its hot in Australia and its summer and nothing says Australian Christmas like prawns so coral came to mind and here we are!

As always if you enjoyed this look then check out the video which is currently on YouTube! Leave your comments and your feedback below i would love to know what you guys think of this look and what you would like to see in the future

FWI I haven't opted for falsies but they would look great with this look so go right ahead with that if it is your preference, its usually mine but I'm having some skin issues around my eyes atm.

Grungy smoked eye with nude lip

I'm Hello party people in da house! Today I went for a 90's style grunge eye BUT with a nude lip to tone the look down a little on my eyes I used nyx Je Ne Sais Quoi and Madeleines and macaroons palettes and for my lips I used a combo of Maybelline "Brazen Beige" with Nyx Butter Gloss in "Creme Brûlée". Can you tell I'm going through a bit of a Nyx obsession over here right now? Lol

Anyway if your liking the look let me know leave some comments and some suggestions and I'll see you all next time!!!

YouTube Beauty Vloggers to Watch

I love and am totally obsessed with watching beauty video's and beauty vloggers on YouTube. There is just something so wonderful and helpful about actually seeing someone apply the make-up right there in front of you! Plus the personal tips and tricks which they add in are fantastic whether you are a beginner or a profession.

So this is my list of my all time favorite YouTube Beauty Guru's!

1. Lauren Curtis!

A fellow Aussie, this blonde bombshell from Bondi is a profession but presents all her videos in a really relaxed style and focuses on the makeup rather than on herself which i really love! She currently has over 2 million subscribers and counting and is definitely worth your time particularly for her tips on foundation and blending eye shadows.

2. Missglamorazzi

MissGlamorazzi aka Ingrid Nilson is possibly the sweetest vlogger on YouTube! She is adorable and so genuine i love her to pieces! On top of that she also has a really funky but casual sense of style and has great recommendations for products for your whole body as well as the usual make-up and hair tutorials. Her beauty style is really natural and playful and is something that anyone can learn from when trying to create their own style. She also does really delicious food videos which are super healthy to boot!

3. Juicystar07

Juicystar07, otherwise known as Blair Fowler is a vlogger and model who has really fun videos on make up and wardrobe but i love her for her hair tutorials! The best part about Blairs video's is her genuine character which shines through and really makes me believe that she cares about her subscribers.

Jaclyn Hill is another professional makeup artist and some of her most popular videos are really important and unique from most other beauty vloggers. My favorites are her video on brushes and how to contour. She is really detailed and instructions are incredibly clear and easy to follow.

Beauty Product - Préférence Wild Ombrés - L'Oréal Paris

Hello Everyone!

So yesterday I decided that it was time to change my hair, I have had the same hair style for years now and it is overdue for a mix up so I decided to try out Préférence Wild Ombrés - L'Oréal Paris.

The pack I bought is for very dark hair and it comes with everything you need so i wont tell you how to apply it because you can get that information, if you choose to try this product, from the box.

So as you can see from the pictures... this product did NOT work!
HOWEVER...
The applicator brush which comes with it is amazing for getting a really beautiful smooth transition from dark to light and for adding in highlights as you work the product up your hair. I left the product in for the full 45 minutes after i had finished applying and it took my over 10 minutes to apply so my ends should be white! but they are basically brown, which is sad...
Basically i would recomend you buy this just for the applicator brush but you are probably going to need to do a few applications if you have any hair-dye in your hair from previous treatments because to strip the colour is going to take a much stronger mix of bleach unfortunately.
Good try L'Oreal, but not for me.

Pet Product - Tasty Bone

I LOVE this product! Basically the Tasty Bone a nylon 'bone' which makes it super durable but with flavor infused into it so it maintains their attention for longer than a regular chew toy. This bone is the ultimate dog boredom buster!

My biggest problem with regular chew toys for my dog is that, if he doesn't feel the accomplishment of tearing it to shreds within a few minutes, he gets bored! With the Tasty Bone, this doesn't happen! Plus its durable so he can go at it, hammer and tong, for (at this point) months without destroying it!

This toy keeps his brain stimulated and keeps him occupied for much longer than any other toy I have ever found. I cannot recommend this product highly enough!

Pork Scratchings

Pork Scratchings are a delicious treat and a wonderful BBQ snack to share with friends and family. They are easy to make though it has a long cook time, there is very little effort involved.

Ingredients

Pork Skin
Canola Oil
Cajun spice mix
Salt

Method

Take as much fat off from the underside of the skin as you can then cut the skin into strips about 3cm wide by 8cm long. Boil these trips in plain water for 20 minutes.

Remove the strips from the water and dry thoroughly on paper towl. Lay the strips, skin side up, on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven at 140c for 1 hour until the skins dry out.

Fill a medium saucepan with approx 5cm to 10cm of canola oil and bring to a high heat ready for frying. To test that the temperature is high enough break off a small piece of bread and drop into the oil, if it fries to golden, then the oil is ready.

Each piece should take between 30 seconds and a minute to fry and no more than 3 peices should be fried at a time. Drop each piece into the oil and wait for it to puff up and change to a beautiful golden amber.

Transfer the strips onto a plate covered with kitchen paper and let the excess oil drain off. Then place in a saving bowl and cover lightly in Cajun spices and a little salt to taste.

Starting a Veggie Patch

Starting a small vegetable patch in your backyard can be incredibly rewarding as well as a cost effective way to supplement you food. There are so many ways to get started sometimes that can be the biggest challenge! To start with you need to decide what kind of space you can allocate to this new garden and from there you can decide on the right kind of "bed".

The most popular at the moment is a raised garden bed which is made out of either wooden sleepers or galvanised steel and often comes in a ready-made flat pack.

This is the flat pack that I chose for my first ever veggie patch and I chose it because it was cheap and I liked that it had two levels which gave me versatility in terms of soil depth which is super important when you are planning on putting your raised bed, as I did, on concrete.

Other options are using pots which are just as useful and effective for veggie gardens and can in many cases give you greater control over soil, fertiliser, sunlight, mulch and other important variables. This kind of flexibility makes pots an ideal solution for some hard to grow plants as well as for people who have a limited space allocation.

In this pot I have planted Rhubarb, Kale, Stevia and Spinach. The pot has given me extra space in my garden and has also allowed me to place these plants in a more favourable position with early morning sun which is different to my larger vegetable patch which has afternoon sun.

FYI! The reason my beds are covered in ugly mesh is because of this guy:

Beware of Dog!
For information on plant and soil selection for your new patch just go to part 2 on the next page =)

Why I garden

Gardening has been the greatest revelation since buying our first house. I have always had plants in pots and small herb gardens in the rentals I've lived in, but when we moved into our house, my love for gardening went VIRAL! I can't wait to show you some of my gardening projects and the development of my first full garden! :D
